The Nikon Coolpix AW100s is essentially the same rugged, waterproof camera as the Nikon Coolpix AW100 but lacks the world map display feature, which was a regional variation of the model. The "s" version retains all other key features and specifications, including the GPS and e-Compass functions.
Differences from the AW100
The only functional difference between the Nikon Coolpix AW100 and the AW100s is the world map display. Both models include:
GPS and e-Compass functions that acquire and record position and orientation information with shooting.
The log function, which tracks movement even when the camera is off.
The AW100 model can display this GPS information on a built-in world map on the monitor, while the AW100s cannot. All other hardware specifications and durability ratings are identical.
